Happy St David’s Day

March 1st, 2006

If you live ‘west of the border’ then you’re probably out celebrating tonight.

Happy St Davids Day!

I don’t have a national day to celebrate at present as us Kiwi’s who live in foreign lands get to pick and choose which days we support (so we usually choose to celebrate all of them)

Next up (17 March) is St Patrick’s day, which is really just a much shorter version of Oktoberfest (with about the same amount of beer consumed :))

National days (in calendar order)
St David’s Day (01 March) - Wales
St Patrick’s Day (17 March) - ROI
St George’s Day (23 April) - England
St Andrew’s Day (30 November) - Scotland

A nice lie in…

March 1st, 2006

I’m looking forward to a nice lie-in … after a taster this morning, all too short mind you, but New York beckons and what promises to be a comfy bed too.
I’ll catch a few zzz’s on the plane, as we’ll have an extra 5 hours in our day (flying back in time) and an extra-early start to get to check-in on time.
At least it’s not a bank holiday so the check-in queues shouldn’t be too long.

I love travelling, and will immerse myself in a good book, listen to the pilots (and control towers) or watch the latest movie before nodding off (I sleep well on planes)
