No recycling bags around the back of the house now. All have been collected by Wandsworth Council’s rubbish contractor.
It looks like the voicemail system does work after all.
If you’re having a problem with your recycling then get on the phone and get it sorted.
Councils don’t show initiative - people do!
It’s amazing just how many Tomatos a vine produces.
I staked up all my Tomato Plants last night as several had been buffeted about in the stormy weather this week.
They must be happy though as they are sporting more tomatos than I had expected.
Most are still a few weeks away from ripening and several smaller bunches are starting to appear.
Growing food from seeds is such a joy, and we will be planting more vegetables in the autumn and early spring too.
Next week we will order our Pansies for winter colour, approx 60 to get us started with the option of over 100 more to give a bright display during the bleak winter months.

In these times of enlightened recycling initiatives I find it highly amusing (yet saddening too) that our local council’s recycling contractors cannot get it right, having missed our recycling bags for at least 6 weeks now.
Come on Wandsworth Council - raise the bar a wee bit.
I’ve left voicemails asking for the bags to be collected and will check out the back again tomorrow evening.
If I get no reply then the local media might have to be involved…..
This morning started off chilly and misty, has Autumn set in already? The afternoon fined up (in Stockport at least). After a busy day I’m enjoying a relaxing trip home on Virgin.
The Midlands are parched and in desperate need of rain, much like my garden.
I hope to travel up North again soon. Days out of the office are so productive.
In little over an hours time we’ll be arriving home with 3 boxes of flat-pack storage space, ready for assembly.
Not the most fun task in the world (the instructions always appear to be in outer-Mongolian or some other obscure language and the diagrams don’t seem to make sense) but the result (a fully assembled item with no screws left over) causes elation!
I’ll dose myself up on quality coffee now to be fully alert when putting the puzzle together.
