Well Done England

November 19th, 2006

English Rugby took one step back from the cliff after scraping past South Africa at Twickenham yesterday.
However, Wales are in a jubilant mood after trouncing Canada, but will their success be any measure of preparation heading into an All Blacks rendezvous? Sure, they will have home support, but the hearts and minds of nearly 5 million kiwis (and many million more sheep) will ensure we go into this battle with resolve.

We admire the Welsh Rugby team, a lot more than other countries might do, there is a great depth in their play and a comeraderie stretching back decades.

Lift Maintenance - Taking the mick?

November 19th, 2006

I have been out and about lately, visiting with clients onsite, and 3 out of 5 offices I visited this week (including ours) had no working lift.

We commented on this observation and was met with a series of derisory comments (at each location) aimed at lift operators and their inability to maintain a working lift for an extended period of time.

I felt better taking the stairs but thought about my not-so-able-bodied colleagues whose lives are made tortuous through these events.

Do your lifts work?

Justifiably Proud

November 11th, 2006

As a kiwi I am proud of my team’s achievement over the past 2 weeks - beating the England Rugby Team 41-20 and the French 23-3 at half time (the final score has yet to be determined), and for the Kiwi League team notching up a win 34-4 in Wellington vs the GB team.

I am behind the England Cricket Team though, as anyone playing against Australia gets our full support!

** Update - Full Time **
I wouldn’t want to be wearing a tricolour shirt tonight.
Full Time score - 47-3 to the All Blacks!

A mortgage offer

November 7th, 2006

We received our mortgage offer in writing today.
There could be only a matter of weeks now until we exchange and complete.

We have already started the packing process due to our landlord deciding to recarpet our current flat - even though there was nothing wrong with the old carpet. Oh well, thats less we need to pay for cleaning when we leave!

This last week has been a blur and I have been focussing on packing and have neglected blogging.

We’ve been out and about a lot and have barely fitted in sleep and dinner time.

Roll on Friday, I need a lie-in on Saturday.
