Most blog entries are conceived and written on the day of posting, but a few are planned days/weeks in advance.
However, many blogs are neglected for extended periods, with their readers not returning to check the new content.
The thirst for information is growing and there are numerous blogs these days focussing on niche markets, which can be tapped into for revenue opportunities (this is a whole new topic in itself)
There must be an expanding market for blog owners wishing to have content written for them on a daily basis, or prepackaged and served via feeds or auto-inserters.
Are you an aspiring author or do you often come up with quirky ideas? (perhaps a handful that could be compiled into a thought of the day collection?) If so I’d love to hear from you. Although there’s unlikely to be payment in the short-medium term there is potential for exposure to your blog, generating traffic which in turn can be translated into profit.
My contact details are on the link to the right.
Note:
For the foreseeable future this blog will remain ad-free, a refreshing change to so many blogs out there. There will be no flashy banners or pop-ups
Blogging Tips
Not something that immediately springs to mind when you have a website, as in many cases you’re more interested about getting your blog/webpage online so that the world can see it.
Is it something you need to think about? Absolutely!
Virtual (aka Intellectual) data is what defines your business and is the difference in offering between your product and that of your competitor.
Do you back-up your data frequently? Do you store records offline? (on cd/dvd) or do you delegate this responsibility to your host?
Drives fail occasionally, and when they do, the files you lose are bound to be the most important ones.
Take 10 minutes to review your data-security measures, and to put in place a back-up system.
There are many storage systems available and most hosts have the facility to back-up your data remotely and some will even do this for you, sending you backups monthly (or at a mutually convenient time)
When I recently travelled to NZ I took a copy of my site files with me on my iPod, that way I could amend and upload from virtually anywhere should the worst happen and my site go down.
Blogging or information site providers can be the hardest hit in the event of data failure (or data theft) and the biggest cost will be your time in restoring data to it’s original state.
Do you have an unusual backup method or a trusted backup tool/service provider that you would like to have ‘blogged’.
If so, email me with the details and I will get these online in my Business Blog.

I had my eyes opened to a new possibility tonight.
Has Blogging hit the mainstream yet?
The answer to this is - nope, not yet, as there are still millions of people who are blissfully unaware of blogs and the impact they make on the lives of so many people.
Through this blog and ’sharing the love’ I hope we can reach an even wider audience, and continue to grow blogging throughout 2006 and beyond.
Fashions come and go (like mullets - and thankfully they are cyclical) but Blogging is here to say.
Blogging is a form of relaxation for some and a source of income for others.
Go on - add a new dimension to your life/business with a blog.

It would appear that throughout January I didn’t blog on Tuesdays or Thursdays. Quite a strange pattern, considering many of you browsed inzvestor.co.uk on a Thursday - my highest hits day of the week.
In February I will be blogging everyday (where possible) and trying out a new SE strategy, relating to keywords and their placement within the text, to guage the response of the spiders that visit daily.

Reminder:
All data used to create web pages should be stored locally on your own system in weekly (or daily) files where possible.
Try and make a hard copy back up at least monthly (or rotate a series (weekly) of rewriteable DVD’s)
You never know what might happen.

Not surprisingly I am top of Google (and a few other search engines) for the word ’stretchificated’.
Through no SEO apart from the mention of the word in the content of my Blog I’m sitting at the top (and 2-3 other entries) on the front page of Google.
Blogs have a great effect on Search Engine rankings, and using tools that track keywords within your content and where they appear on Google, MSN and Yahoo, you can futher optimise your blog, meta tags, keywords, urls and other SE friendly components of your site to achieve higher and higher rankings, without forking out ridiculous sums of money.
I’m open to bribery (in this instance), so if any specialist SEO marketing company wishes to silence me I’d happily accept (within reason) generous donations of cash to remove these posts from the internet.
