Looking at my web stats, the highest number of blog views is between 2200 and 2300 on weeknights.

I have a habit of checking emails before bed, and try and read a blog or two from my fellow bloggers as well.
There are blogs that I stay away from late at night - as too many thoughts enter my head afterwards, and then there are those whose style of writing makes me laugh so I read them to help relax.

If you have a blog, do you regularly check your stats?
I’m finding a low blog reader count on Fridays, but Sundays and Tuesdays are currently the days with the highest number of hits.
I currently use AWStats to view my traffic and visitor stats, but will be switching to SmarterStats asap as they are far superior, and one of my hosts now offers them as standard.

How do you decide what is good content for a blog?
This is a question I get asked alot.
There is no right or wrong answer about what should be contained in a blog.
In a perfect world (does one exist) there would be free speech, but in today’s world you have to censor your own blogs (ie not put down (belittle) a company or their services) and always remember that people of all ages could be reading.
Much of my blog traffic comes from repeat readers but there is an element of ’stumbling’ - the art of surfing onto my site from the likes of Google, MSN, Yahoo and many of the niche search engines out there.
I am often asked what SEO I do for my site. Much of this is left to the software/code that is WordPress, an extremely powerful blogging tool.

Forget paying ridiculous amounts of money to get great SE placement !!
I have recently managed to get front page rankings on MSN, Google and Yahoo for several words relating to my sites.
I’m not sure how many emails I get offering me an improved place (’Front page guaranteed’ these ads state) for parting with large amounts of hard earned cash, but I do know that I can achieve a ’similar’ result without all the fluffery associated with this.
My secret (well it’s not a secret really…)
A content rich site, that is easily navigable.
No fluff, no puff, just results.
